San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles are the cities in the U.S.A. with the most yoga studios. These three cities are among the largest and most populous in America. Yoga is banned in certain countries
Many people know that Yoga is a form of ancient physical and mental training. However, they are often surprised that only some enjoy the ancient practice. Some countries have banned it completely, or at least from certain public areas. Yoga is often restricted because it originates in India, and it’s believed to spread Hinduism.
A fatwa or religious decree has banned Muslims from practicing Yoga in Indonesia and Malaysia. Most Muslim countries view Yoga as a form of Hinduism and consider it an inappropriate form of worship contrary to Islam’s spiritual principles.
2015 Russia banned Yoga, a pseudoscience that could “erode people’s spiritual and health development.” The Russian Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy announced the ban as a response to a bill draft that included Yoga and other “esoteric practices” in a list of “harmful” activities.
Several Western churches and schools have also banned Yoga due to the false notion that it is religious.
